Feeling Vulnerable is Necessary to Being Authentic

The journey to being authentic sounds like it should be easy… “Just be yourself”.
How hard can that be?
You would think it should be easy, but most of us don’t know who their real self is.
I am having my own challenges in my journey right now. I know what I want to do – help people on this same journey to be authentic and live the life they love … because it makes me happy to help others and see them find their happy journey.
But my ego is bringing up all sorts of blocks in the form of FUD – Fear Uncertainty and Doubt – stemming from my early life and I think from previous lives and karma.
I ask myself:
Am I good enough?
Can I really do it?
What if I can’t?
We all ask those questions and they get especially tough when we are putting our hearts and souls on the line to fulfill our purpose and help others. I am finding my own answers to my FUD challenges and then I can help others do the same.
I believe in the Law of Attraction (which states, amongst many things, that what you think about and focus on you get) so that means if you are thinking negatively then those things you fear will happen in your life. That said, I also find it is not just a matter and changing the way I feel when I feel down or in a funk to be positive. That doesn’t feel authentic to me if it is not how I genuinely feel at the time. It is not necessarily about positive thinking all the time.
We need to explore what that funk is about and face our fears to name them or else the funk just returns on a different day. Feeling in a funk is a sign to us that we have something in our psyche that needs facing and healing as it is pushing us to delve into that space to find what it is, address it and then let it go so it no longer holds us back.
Being authentic is feeling vulnerable and really feeling your feelings. Sharing this is part of my confronting and healing. I hope it helps you in yours.
